(AAP) A Sydney man who served 12 years in prison for a terrorism offence has been arrested for breaching his control order.
Belal Khazaal allegedly breached the order when he twice tried to communicate with a NSW prisoner in March and April, and when he transferred a sum higher than $500 to another person without notifying the Australian Federal Police.
The 51-year-old was arrested at his Greenacre home on Friday morning, police said.
They said there was no specific or impending threat to the community.
Khazaal was released from Sydney’s Silverwater jail last August after being convicted in 2008 of making a document connected with assistance in a terrorist act.
