(Portugal Resident) Portugal’s police forces are described as on Grade 4 (moderate) terrorist alert following an announcement published online last week by a pro-Al Qaeda group inciting supporters to carry out lone wolf attacks in Western Europe.
Says tabloid Correio da Manhã, “Portugal is taking the threat seriously.”
Spain’s interior ministry has also sent out a communiqué to its police forces.
The threat comes from a group called Al-Malahem Media, says CM. It called on supporters to kill police agents by infiltrating protests — and offered a bitcoin worth over €50,000 to whoever manages this first.
