(News.com.au) Three young men were arrested in Melbourne this morning, including a 16-year-old, in relation to suspected terrorism offences.
The men aged 16, 19 and 20 were arrested after police were alerted to information that suggested their extremist ideology would be of concern to the Victorian community.
Police say it will be alleged the 19-year-old Epping man attempted to engage in a terrorist act.
The 20-year-old Epping man also remains in custody, while the 16-year-old Pascoe Vale youth was released pending further inquiries.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Hermans told reporters today the arrests of three men were believed to be linked to Islamic extremism.
