(CNS) Rep. Ilhan Omar (D.-Minn.) sent out a tweet on Tuesday celebrating what she believes was her victory in ensuring that people can “fully practice their religion or rituals in Congress.”
Her tweet linked to a Jan. 4, 2019, story in the Twin Cities Pioneer Press that was headlined: “Rep. Ilhan Omar succeeds in changing U.S. House ban on headwear.”
“Two years ago, I pushed to lift this ban on the grounds of religious liberty,” Omar said in her tweet.
“No one should feel like they can’t fully practice their religion or rituals in Congress,” she said.
“It’s our Constitutional right,” she said.
