(BBC) Families of those who died in the Manchester Arena attack have given emotional statements to a court where the bomber’s brother is awaiting sentencing.
Over the course of a two-day sentencing hearing, relatives broke down in tears as they spoke about their grief and how “life will never be the same.”
Hashem Abedi, who was jailed for at least 55 years for the murder of 22 people in the 2017 terror attack, refused to leave his cell to hear them.
Judge Mr Justice Jeremy Baker told the Old Bailey the “despair and desolation of the bereaved” was “palpable,” and praised the “tremendous dignity and courage” of those who attended.
