(News.com.au) Auburn Gallipoli Mosque has been granted a one-off exemption from the restrictions limiting places of worship to 100 people, allowing it to mark one of Islam’s holiest days, Eid al-Adha.
The mosque can welcome up to 400 people — still far fewer than the thousands who usually show up for the event — spread over four different zones, with no mixing between zones.
Everyone will have their temperature checked as they enter. Worshippers must wear masks, bring their own prayer mats, and follow social distancing rules.
Anybody who doesn’t follow the rules will be removed.
