(Washington Examiner) Rep. Ilhan Omar accused President Trump of trying to create a “distraction” by killing Gen. Qassem Soleimani in an attempt to ignite a war with Iran.
“So what if Trump wants war, knows this leads to war and needs the distraction?” the Minnesota Democrat said Thursday on Twitter. “Real question is, will those with congressional authority step in and stop him? I know I will.”
The Pentagon announced earlier in the evening that the United States had killed Soleimani, Iran’s top “shadow commander” who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans.
