Leader of Muslim group wants to meet with Tigers owner

(Norwich Bulletin) Leaders of the state branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations want to meet with E. Miles Prentice, the owner of the Connecticut Tigers.

Prentice is chairman of the board of the Center for Security Policy, a Washington think tank that the Southern Poverty Law Center calls an anti-Muslim hate group.

“I really would like to just sit down and talk,” said Tark Aouadi, executive director at CAIR Connecticut, the state branch of the Muslim advocacy and civil rights group.

After the Bulletin published an article last week reporting on Prentice’s ties, Aouadi said he reached out to the team and to Norwich Mayor Peter Nystrom in hopes of arranging a meeting.
