Muslims divided over Johnson’s controversial comments in the past Boris Johnson became prime minister saying he would unify the country but to some Muslims he has been a divisive figure.

(Sky News) Boris Johnson is morally unfit to be prime minister, according to a former chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum.

Mohammed Amin, who has been a member of the Tory party for 36 years, shocked many in June when he compared Mr Johnson to Adolf Hitler. He resigned from the party the same month.

It followed Mr Johnson’s likening of women who wear burkas to bank robbers and letter boxes.

After Mr Johnson was elected Conservative Party leader, consequently becoming prime minister, Mr Amin said he refused to be led by someone he regarded as morally unfit for the job.

He told Sky News: “He has the ability to appeal to people and to be positive for race relations.”
