Chris Gaubatz, controversial critic of Muslim group, to speak in Asheville area

(Asheville Citizen Times) A national activist who has drawn backlash for claims that violent jihadists are infiltrating U.S. society is scheduled to speak to a local conservative group.

Chris Gaubatz, who once posed as a Muslim convert, is set to speak at the Asheville Tea Party’s May 16 meeting at the Skyland Fire Department. It would be Gaubatz’s second appearance there in three months. He is also scheduled to talk May 17 at the Hendersonville City Operations Center.

Gaubatz has said Islamic groups including the Council on American-Islamic Relations are working to take over different aspects of society. After posing as a convert, he obtained an internship with CAIR and used material from that to help write the book “Muslim Mafia.”
