(Canadian Press) A youth facing terrorism charges in Kingston, Ont., appeared in court Tuesday for the first day of a two-day bail hearing.
The youth was charged in late January after a Canadian police investigation sparked by a tip from the FBI, and he has been in custody ever since.
The identity of the accused can’t be revealed under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and a publication ban is in place on all evidence, submissions and reasons presented during the bail hearing.
The accused appeared in court Tuesday wearing a burgundy shirt and matching sweat pants, a green coat and worn black sneakers. He was accompanied in and out of the courtroom by police officers who attached ankle restraints and sometimes handcuffs on the youth.
