Jihadist stripped of Dutch nationality

(NL Times) Convicted jihadist Marouane B. from Arnhem is no longer a Dutch national. State Secretary Mark Harbers of Justice and Security stripped his Dutch nationality, a spokesperson for the ministry confirmed to NU.nl after reports in the Telegraaf.

B., who traveled to Syria and joined terrorist organization Islamic State in 2013, can appeal against the decision if he wishes to. B. was sentenced to six years in prison by a Dutch court in April last year. He was convicted of participating in a terrorist organization. The man wasn’t present for his trial or sentencing. He is believed to still be in Syria.
